Message from the President

President Elect

I am delighted to announce the appointment of Dr John Dillon, Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee and Honorary Reader in Hepatology at the University of Dundee as President-elect of the Scottish Society of Gastroenterology. Dr Dillon will serve one year on Council as President-Elect then assume the Presidency in 2016.

Trainee Representative

I am also delighted to announce that Dr Mhairi Donnelly, Gastroenterology Trainee in Aberdeen and currently Clinical Research Fellow in the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, will replace Dr Gillian Bain as the trainee representative on Council.

We could not wish for 2 more able individuals to fill these roles and I look forward to welcoming them on Council.

I would also take this opportunity to thank Gillian for her excellent work. Her time on council has seen the introduction of the annual Training Days an integral part of SSG meetings. This has been a considerable success, much of the credit for which goes to Gillian herself.

Alastair MacGilchrist
President
Scottish Society of Gastroenterology
